I cannot tell you how long you have had me. I cannot tell you how long I’ve waited for food and water. I CAN tell you how long you haven’t loved me, since the first time you laid eyes on me! I was cute until you got me home and I had to go potty so I went potty on that rug instead of the carpet, I tried to tell you but , you just pushed me away. I didn’t know that rug was expensive. I didn’t know I was supposed to be hurt for going to the potty.
I am skin and bones now; I have sores everywhere on me. I am shrinking. And this thing around my neck won’t move anymore, it seems stuck. I just want someone to hold me, to love me. I just want to go to sleep. I’m curling up now trying to stay warm. Sleep sounds so nice now, it’s where I dream. Dream of a happy time long ago. I should have not tried to look so cute, so you’d take me home. I should have waited for that next human, the one with the little girl to take me home.

I feel someone picking me up, but, carefully! I take my little bit of strength to look up. They are crying and holding me close, but not to hurt me. They are putting me on a blanket, at least that’s what I heard them say, and were going somewhere called the vets office. They pick me up carefully; they are going fast with me in their arms. We get inside and human hands are touching me everywhere, not sure why?
The woman who brought me in , is talking to the vet. She looks sad and she is crying. The vet tells her;” Too much damage is done.” she comes back over to me and says I am going home tonight. She takes me back on the blanket and we are going someplace called home? We get inside and she lays me down on a soft spot. She gets me water, and she’s feeding me with a spoon. It is warm and taste yummy.
I should have gone home with this little girl and not you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I feel safe! I hear noises and its other humans coming in. I’m scared. But they come over and rub my ears and there saying how cute I am. I want to go to sleep. But I like this place called home. I hear the woman tell this little girl its ok, and to go ahead. When I look up it’s the little girl from the shelter. She lies down next to me with a pillow and a blanket of her own. She puts my head on the pillow carefully, she covers me with her blanket, and she carefully wraps her arms around me. I am safe, I am home! Sometime in the darkness, I feel free. I am looking over the top of me and this little girl. I have wings.
With hope that every heart gets freed from their abusers…………………
For every abused animal if there lucky to get rescued before its to late. For the ones that are rescued for a moment and shown love and compassion before passing over.

I would love for someone to write a story about an animal abuser that is just as heartfelt. It should start like this:

Yesterday, my long neglected dog died. Today, I feel hot all over. I am so thirsty but there is not a drop of water to drink. Someone keeps poking me in the ass with a burning pitchfork...

Hello, this is my first post here. Not even sure this is the right place to post this. I just rescued a 5 year old little poodle mix who was on the "Red list" I rescue a lot of animals and get them healthy then find them homes. This little guy (I've named him cooper) is by far the worst case I've ever seen. He was filthy, covered in fleas, ticks and feces. He smelled and looked awful but was only hours away from being put to sleep. I took him straight to a groomer and then the vet. This is where my question comes in. He's got a tumor on his stomach, he's got kennel cough and the vet says he's got a stage 5 heart murmur. The vet I took him to is a top surgeon but I'm a little concerned. He didn't do a blood test or fecal or urine and sent him home with antibiotics for the cough and set up a cardiologist appointment to see if he was strong enough for surgery. My question is, does that seem normal? I want to show a picture but it says the file is to large.. I'd really like some of you to see the tumor. I'll try to figure out how to upload the picture. Anyway, thanks for reading this.

Tell the vet you want a blood test done, as well as fecal and urine.
