Yall remember the thread when Chocy almost died from having a tooth extracted? Chocys ordeal (If its bad, it will happen to us!) | Canine Chat Forum • K-9 Resources and Reviews Because of his deformity (major sever overbite) we have battled tooth problems forever. He has horrid breath (that of a dead corpse) and recently, it got ALOT worse! It stunk up the entire house. Because of the tounge growth (to the left) it was too hard to see what was going on. I brush daily, but this was unpreventable..... He stared to not eat. And I knew something was major wrong. I got the CareCredit when Zeus was sick a bit back (my son got it because Zeus is his dog) so I took Chocy to the best vet this side of the Mississippi!!!! LOVE this vet (he cares for my goats) I used to card and took Chocy this morning. He had 5 teeth pulled. I wanted them all pulled, because of the upkeep and problems, but because his jaw is so short on the bottem, it would break if they tried to pull healthy teeth. But 5 were either loose or severaly bad. I couldnt see. (because of the tongue growth). One had exposed roots.....he is still drunk but I tell you.,...... When the other vet pulled one tooth,...well........go read the thread. I walked in today and Chocy was QUIET. ZERO anxiety. Up 6" from the floor on a cot. Blankies......and being loved on by helpers at the vets office. No barking. He didnt wanna leave. Melts my heart there are still actual animal LOVERS in todays society!!!! He is resting. Still alittle whoozie. And in a day or two of antibiotics he should feel good as new!!! I feel guilty & horrible I didn't do this sooner..........I wish they could talk to us!!!!! But, they did mention that he will eventuall need more pulled, and I will not hesitate to bring him back to the best vet in the world! p.s...............................Zeus is still a *bad*word*
That is great news that he made it through his extractions and anesthesia... I know they do it all the time... but I'm a nervous hen when they go under.... Super fantastic that he had such an supportive and caring vet team to look after him.... I think when you find the right place it makes all the difference in the world!!!
Poor pup. Having a vet that is a partner in the care of your dogs is crucial. I'm glad that you have found that with vet number 2. What is the growth on the side of Choxy's tongue? I didn't see anything mentioned in the other thread you referred to.
He doesn't have a "growth", his tongue literally grew to the left. It doesnt go straight or out the right side of his mouth. It actually grew left......Is why it is always hanging out LOL.
