Finally!!! As announcements go this isnt a biggie for anyone outside of my family, But since its a dog forum i thought id share here with ya all anyways. We have officially decided to import another Dobermann puppy. Nothing is written in stone and no particular breeder has yet to be chosen, however i have a cpl in mind that i really hope have upcoming breeding's that will produce a puppy that fits into my own breeding program.. All i know right now is it will be male and it will be black and rust. The hunt could take several months because of the specifics im looking for, Dom Black, vWD Clear, IPO titled parents, etc, etc. Temperament is going to be difficult to confirm since we wont be leaving the country to scout prospects. Wish us luck, Importing any dog is always a crap shoot no matter who you are. European Dobermann breeders rarely send off their grade A stock to US owners. And no doubt this puppy has to fit the "World Class" bill.
Thanks believe it or not i may have found my breeder right here in the US.. This person has the same goals and a very similer breeding program to my own, the best part is i have been offered a full registration (rare with this breeder), both parents are tri registered AKC, UKC, FCI. .. Im actually more excited then ever now. And it gets better the parents both come from two of my three favorite European Dobermann breeders, and have been promised pick of the litter... The idea of importing another dog was/is already causing me a lot of stress. If this comes to light it will save me a few buck and a ton stress. Who would have thought this process would have been so easy? Sometimes i suppose its better to be lucky then good. I guess its true what they say.. "Its not what you know but who you know"
Pick of the litter ... US breeder from Euro stock ... Full registration ... Sounds like a winner, Von. I guess the only thing that would make it any better is if your chosen breeder is within driving distance!
No such luck there, but the airport is.. Although it might make for a great excuse to hit the east coast. Hopefully it wont be winter time. But yeah im really excited about this.. This breeding is so up my alley that i already know exactly what to expect and have a really good idea of the phenotype.. Dominant Black is the only thing i wanted that i wont get. But thats ok the Reds always seem to get reserved first anyway. But i would love to be able to only produce Black and Tan Dobermans someday down the road.
He isnt even a twinkle in his daddy's eye yet. On top of that if the breeding doesnt produce a suitable black male i cant commit.
