I just came back from the country. I go there a few times a year. Anyway, there are 2 other male dogs there. So, JC likes to "hump" when he goes there. My vet says that because there are all male dogs there, it's a dominance thing. I do whatever I can to make sure his humping is minimal. He also walks around just humping the air. Anyway...............at dinner last night, JC decided to hump this woman that was over for dinner. She has a ton of animals herself so she said she was used to that behavior. This was the first time JC's wee wee was out all the way. I have to say, for a chihuahua, his wee wee was HUGE and it was hard like a rock. And, it took awhile for it to go back in. I didn't know whether to give JC a cigarette or a drink after that. And, he looked exhausted. Can I get some opinions on this please? Is it because all the dogs are male? I did notice a lot of dominant body language going on all week. They all got along ok. No fighting, but their body language is very interesting.
With the male dogs that sounds right to me, I have seen little pups both male and female do that with no sexual thing about it. I have had little 6 week old pups both male and female grasp my ankle and thrust. Now with JC I would say spring is in the air for him, When the red rocket comes out like that we know he was thinking one thing. Neutering them really only stops the production of sperm obviously but does not take away their desire and I have been told by several vets they are still able to have the feeling of climax but just nothing there. And dogs much like birds and the like tend to see a surge in their promiscuity when they get up in years for a short amount of time. I think it is their nature to sire as many offspring as they can before they just can't anymore.
Hey OT! It's good to hear from you. Hope all is well in your world. Aren't most males this way?! Kodi is my wife's castrated Pomeranian. He is forever trying to hump my bitches when they come into season. Kinkz is my castrated pet Pit. He has no interest in females.
Hey Deputy Dog, Yeah so far things have been going good. Decided to go to Europe for a bit and see the sites and such. Hadn't done that before so figured might as well. Seems like most of us are this way aren't we,lol. You know something else I forgot to put in was the small dogs always tend to be kind of over sexed to begin with.
I would agree with that. My 2 Jacks are spayed females and the only time they 'hump' is when I'm fixing their food. Excitement? Anticipation? Sassy humps Gretchen (Lab/Rott) if she's laying down, and Maisy grabs the cat and humps him...much to his dismay. That is the only time they do this.
