Just a reminder to keep your pets safe and sound on this holiday.

If you are going to a fireworks display, please leave your pets at home. Even the most docile pets can get anxiety and aggressive with the noise of the fireworks.

If you are going to a big gathering, again, leave your pet home where they will be safe.

Please feel free to add any other suggestions you might have.

Have a safe Fourth of July.

I lost my first dog on the 4th of July one year. What a scare that was! I was at a friend's house that was close to the fireworks and she bolted. I had no idea she would do that. I found her the next morning crossing a bridge on her way home. Yikes!!!!

I will not be taking JC with me when I go to my BBQ. I'd rather him be home, watching TV in air-conditioning.

When I go see the fireworks, I'm leaving Karma at home in the air conditioning with plenty of chew toys, toys, water, and other things to keep her occupied while I'm gone for a little bit. I hate leaving her at home even though thunder and fireworks don't bother her, still, I'm thinking about how the sounds of fireworks and firecrackers going off and affecting her hearing.

I just got back from my BBQ and I ended up taking JC with me. He did some swimming in the pool and then he was in the air-conditioned house chilling out. He played with his doggy friend Teddy and everyone gave him some love:)

I spent my day poolside....reading a book....drinking 4 Coronas with lime (got to get my fruit allowance), swimming and then showered and went to visit my Mom in the Rehab Nursing Home.
